What is Taxi Excess Protection?

The Important Bits

When getting quotes for your Taxi, Private Hire, Chauffeur or Black Cab Insurance, choosing a higher voluntary excess will help to bring down the cost of your Taxi insurance premiums, because the insurer won't have to pay out so much in the event of a claim. Sometimes you have no say in the matter and the excess is just higher than you would prefer.

Taxi Excess Protection insurance works alongside your normal Taxi, Private Hire, Chauffeur or Black Cab insurance policy. If you have to make a claim against your policy, then you can claim on our Excess Protection policy to recover the excess you have had to pay out. Taxi Excess Protection can be particularly useful for young drivers, as increasing the excess can bring the premiums down by hundreds of pounds.

With our Excess Protection policy, you can choose a claim limit of £250, £500, £750, £1000, £1500 and £2000.

Our prices start from just £24 per year, regardless of your age, where you live, or what vehicle you drive.

You choose the claim limit to suit you. For example a policy with a limit of £1000 could allow one claim of £1000, or four claims of £250, you decide.
